Hey guys! Just wanted to make a short story about Cinder seeing Kai after a week. Please comment if you like it!
LOVERS <3
Cinder is waiting at the table while fidgeting with a wrench. The only sound was the clock on the wall ticking. Kai would be there any minute! She couldn't wait to see him after a whole week of him being on a business trip. She'd been waiting for over half an hour when she found out that Kai would be arriving that morning. Just then Thorne enters the room. "hey Cinder, have you seen how hot my hair looks today?" he asks. Cinder was hardly listening, used to his cocky weird questions. She spares him a glance and then goes back to her tools. "where's Cress?" She asks, wanting Thorne to leave. "I was gonna ask you that." Thorne replied. "well wherever she is she's probably dying to check out your hair so go find her instead of bothering me..." Cinder said with low enthusiasm. Thorne walked out "Catch ya later!".
Just as Thorne left, Cinder hears a noise outside. She jumps up and runs out the door. A hover had just landed. She rushes toward it and the door opened. "KAI!" she shouts as he gets out and runs to hug her. Kai was looking as good as ever with his hair messy and untidy but that was something Cinder always found attractive about him. Kai brushes back Cinder's hair and plants a kiss on her forehead. "I missed you." he says softly. Cinder feels so safe in his arms she never wants to let go. Cinder finally pulls away and looks into his eyes, the eyes she'd missed for a whole week. "Come inside, I'm sure your famished," she tells him. He smiles at her, the same heart-stopping, carefree smile she'd seen so many times, yet it always gave her butterflies. They walk back to the house, hands intertwined.
Cinder warms up a breakfast of toast, eggs, and tomatoes (Scarlet had dropped them off fresh). Kai sits down, staring at Cinder with admiration. "How was the trip?" She asks. "Good, but it would have been better if you were there." He answers. Cinder smiles and Kai returns the look. She brings the breakfast to him. "How was your week?" Cinder sits down next to Kai and begins turning a screw around in her palm "It was okay" she says without much emotion. She had missed Kai a lot that week and was just sitting around fixing things and being annoyed by Thorne, but she didn't want to tell all of that to him.
Kai waits for her to expand but she doesn't say anything else. Once he finishes up the breakfast, He gets up and takes her hand again and kisses the back of it. Cinder smiles again and leans in toward him. She wants to move even closer but didn't have enough courage. But Kai was already an making the first move and closed the gap fully. Cinder's heart beat faster at Kai's unexpected quick movements toward her. His lips feel warm and soft as he kisses Cinder passionately. Like always, she ignored the warnings as Kai's hands started move from her waist up to her neck. She continued kissing him and wanted to stay in his embrace forever. Just then, Thorne walks into the room "I found Cre-" He stops at the doorway with Cress behind him.
They're both gaping and Kai begins to blush. They pull away from each other and Cinder flinches at the awkwardness. "Kai's back." She says when no one was speaking. "I noticed" Thorne says. "Welcome back, we gotta go now, bye!" Cress stammers and drags a smirking Thorne out of the room. Kai looks at Cinder and smiles again "Let's continue where we left off before the 'interruption'." Cinder gives a small chuckle and this time she's the one to make the first move. Pulling Kai in, she presses her lips against Kai's again and they continue exactly where they left off.
