Hi there, folks!
Like any fans from different fandoms, fans of The Lunar Chronicles enjoy sharing their personal dream cast for TLC characters. It has belatedly come to light that some Users were enthusiastic enough about the matter that they created main namespace articles for the sole purpose of sharing their dream cast. Said act, unfortunately, is not how this Wiki operates, thus those posts have been corrected as User blog namespace articles instead.
This prompted me to revisit the idea of having a separate discussion board focusing on dream cast. Back in April, 2015, I've tentatively pitched the idea to a now-inactive B-crat; at the time, the entire forum itself had considerably low-traffic, so in retrospect I could understand why a new board may have been redundant. That said, the conversation has never been properly followed-up. Ideally, people who wish to discuss dream cast would post under Board:General Discussion; however, that has not been the case, and those posts can be seen across several boards.
Below are threads I've located:
- General (multiple characters)
- Thread:4798 "My Dream Cast!"
- Thread:9052 "What is your dream cast for the possible movie?"
- Specific character
- Thread:6334 "Chris Hemsworth as wolf!"
- Thread:6546 "Who should play Kai in the movie?"
- Thread:7614 "Who would you cast as Cress?"
- Thread:11888 "About Chris Pine as Thorne"
I will be the first one to admit, the above really does not look like an awful lot of numbers that needed their own dedicated board. That said, I believe people have been incorrectly using the commenting area of main namespace articles to occasionally voice their opinions on the matter, and feel like, if there were a place where those posts obviously belonged, perhaps people would be less likely to leave those posts at inappropriate places.
User blogs, including ones after corrections:
- User blog:Tyrannosaurus.Lex/Cast
- User blog:Lunarlife11/Lunar Chronicles Dream Cast
- User blog:TheBigBWolf/Lunar Chronicles Movie Fan Cast
For people who are patient enough to actually read this post, please chip in by replying to this thread. It's a "Yes" or "No" question: "Would you like a dedicated discussion board for dream cast posts?" Feel free to elaborate your reasoning, but it's not a requirement; what is asked of you, is a clear "Yes" or "No" answer for a vote to be counted.
TBH, I have no idea how many people would actually see this message and when they will see it, but let's just say I'll be checking the result in a month for now. If nobody votes, or if the result is "No", this post would just continue to be used as a place to document all dream cast threads for easier access. =] Looking forward to hearing some community voices! --Sammm✦✧(talk) 18:52, May 21, 2019 (UTC)
i'm not really sure if this fits in this catagory, but is there an app for this wiki?
Is there a way to tag an article for spoilers? If so, how do I do this?
I looked at some other pages, and you can edit them, but why can't you edit Kai's page?
You know what makes me sad? Since TLC came out a few years ago, there has been less and less activity on the site. With Wires and Nerve, there has been a spike in interest but since it's a graphic novel (with controversial depictions of character appearances) it has quickly faded. This is disappointing because the universe is so great! Tell me what you think we should do about it.
This has everything to do with this particular wiki. Now, I know perfectly well that the world isn't centered around me and that everyone can wisely use the resource from the internet, but seriously, can you have the decency to show appreciation to how people have made life easier for you? The whole reason I started the project Editions of The Lunar Chronicles, was in fact because the incompetence of the information Meyer's official website provided. Sure, she also created a Pinterest board, and while that is useful to some extend, it is incomplete. Enlighten me, is there anywhere ELSE you can find a complete list of covers from all the countries in the highest quality? I've seen blogs that attempted to work on the same project, but I can guarantee you as of now, none of them have documented info from the 30+ countries. I pride myself for being dedicated, I'm not being paid and I don't need anyone to thank me, HOWEVER, when I made it easier for YOU TO EFFORTLESSLY STEAL and repost the images you found here, I AM highly offended that whoever did this does not have the conscience to at least link where you found the images.
Now, don't say I'm being a hypocrite cuz I didn't do so myself; for most of the covers that had be uploaded onto the Russian fan page; they aren't exactly that hard to find IF you know what you have to be searching for; I still stand by what I said about "I effing made it easier for you" because this is still the only place to gather all the covers in a single page, but because those images can indeed be found elsewhere, I won't fault anyone for it when it comes to those types. HOWEVER, those below specifically I have every right to be angered:
- http://vk.com/photo-47839560_393199716
- http://vk.com/photo-47839560_393200009
- http://vk.com/photo-47839560_393199728
- http://vk.com/photo-47839560_393200014
- http://vk.com/photo-47839560_393200212
- http://vk.com/photo-47839560_403951161
Why? Because those are the ones I specifically have to either alter the colorization to match the official thumbnails provided by the publishers, or cropping because they were a part of a larger campaign image. Those image are able to look like what they are now because I DID SOMETHING TO THEM, and I ONLY UPLOADED THOSE IMAGES HERE, ONTO THIS WIKI.
Sure, internet resource is free in general, but does it cost you anything to copy and paste the link where you got the image from? I may seem petty and stingy about this situation, but again, if it wasn't clear, I'm actually quite shock that people would think it's morally acceptable. I'm not threatening you to do anything, and since I'm fairly insignificant, I'm sure you won't mind that as of now, because of your action (or the lack of there of), I have a rather supremely low opinion of Russian Lunartics, and it WILL get even lower if I continue to see unreferenced images after I posted this message.
Heyo! I wasn't exactly sure of where to post this, but I guess General Discussion is as good as any. So, I was wondering if we should perhaps fix up the character pages on the wiki. I feel like the whole biography part varies from different page. In Levana's page, the biography is grouped into history, cinder, scarlet, cress, and fairest, but in Thorne's, it's grouped into Early Life and Recent Activities. I don't know which format the wiki members prefer, so I'm not sure to change anything. I'd also like to mention that in Cinder's character page, history only has one sub-category, so I don't feel like it's necessary to make a whole category devoted to only one paragraph.
Should we have a set format for character pages? Personally, I like the format Levana's has, but I want to know your opinions too.
I've created some userboxes, which you can add to your user page to show your opinion about the series! Examples:
| ||
| ||
|
So how does it work? Go to Category:Userboxes and choose a userbox, and then enter this in your user page:
{{user Cinder|opinion|reason}}
The first part is the name of the template, i.e. {{User Cinder}} or {{User Cress Thorne}}, the second parameter is the opinion, i.e. "supports" or "ships", the third parameter is the reason (optional), i.e. "because she rocks" or "for her awesomeness".
You can request more userboxes in this thread!! :)
Hello Lunartics!
I'm looking for someone who wants to be an administrator in this wiki. I'd still be a bureaucrat and admin here, but an additional admin will lighten the burden for me. There are no requirements, just show me you're willing to devote your time helping out this wiki. Sign up by replying to this topic. If more than one person applies for this position, I'll have to make a choice.
I don't know if it is me, someone else, or if Wikia is malfunctioning, because I tried to put another picture of Scarlet Benoit in her page and it stays, but the next time I check the page, it's gone. Does someone keep removing it? Please respond, and I will put it up one more time to test it.

Hello Lunar Chronicles fans!
This wiki deserves a unique name to refer to instead of the boring and long-winded "The Lunar Chronicles Wiki". Some other wikis hosted by Wikia have very creative names, including Lostpedia (Lost), One Wiki to Rule Them All (Lord of the Rings), Wookieepedia (Star Wars).
I have a few suggestions:
- Lunartica (members are called "Lunartics"?)
- Lunawiki (members are called "Lunawikian"?)
Gabby's (Wynn22) suggestion is:
- Lunapedia (members are called "Lunapedian"?)
Which do you like more? Or do you have any other brilliant suggestion? Feel free to discuss it with us in this topic. Any ideas are welcome. Names don't need to have the word "Luna" or "Lunar" in it at all, it can also be related to something in the story that is very significant for the Lunar Chronicles world, so don't limit yourself in your creativity. Just share whatever crazy name(s) you have in mind.
