Garrison Clay is a palace guard of the royal family of Luna and best friend of fellow guard Evret Hayle.[citation needed] He is also the father of Jacin.[citation needed]
He was called to the hospital to assist Evret with his child when his wife died. He was also present at Evret's wedding with Levana and handed him the rings they exchanged. He seemed as if he wanted to tell Evret to cancel the wedding, according to Levana.
His wife was described as "a plain girl with strawberry-blonde hair." She gave Selene a stuffed doll that she had made for her third birthday.
